We are a full-service Entertainment Production Company located in downtown Toronto, and that starts with a story. Our team can develop your premise into a completed script, and produce it in any medium: Film, TV & Digital media, Music, or Literary and Graphic Novels.

Mission Statement: Our vision is to explore the human condition with mind-bending entertainment while maximizing earnings and fiscal responsibility.

Tell us about yourself?

Andrew Palmer is a Toronto based Director, Producer, Novelist and Screenwriter. He co-developed the award-winning animated series Yuki vs. Panda, adapted from the internationally published comic book of the same title.

His novella Awake and novel The Bridge both received critical acclaim from indiereader.com and Reedsy. Andrew’s music video Endless Road achieved semi-finalist at multiple US festivals. He graduated from computer engineering, and is a full member of the DGC, with over 12 years of experience on TV & Film productions. In 2014, Andrew founded Synapz Productions.

If you could go back in time a year or two, what piece of advice would you give yourself?

Start learning Unreal Engine.

What problem does your business solve?

Amateur creatives lack the resources, contacts, and financing to produce and market their art. Synapz Productions solves these problems through an expedient, high quality workflow pipeline.

What is the inspiration behind your business?

The inspiration behind Synapz was a desire to showcase Canadian talent across the world, instead of just being a production hub for Hollywood entertainment.

What is your magic sauce?

Having a story behind every work of art.

What is the plan for the next 5 years? What do you want to achieve?

This year we are producing a feature film entirely in Unreal engine with motion capture performance, and plan to develop the assets for interactive storytelling games -choose your own adventure movies. We want to greenlight production of the gritty Toronto-based crime drama Turf Wars and the fantastical animated series Yuki vs. Panda.

We also want to sign 5 new musical artists and release their debut albums, in addition to publishing 5 more novels from in-house writers, and 5 from new writers. Lastly, we would like to acquire and move into our own studio space.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced so far?

Financing and distribution.

How do people get involved/buy into your vision?

As our success grows, more people are drawn to the vision and join the team. Actions speak louder than words, and so we continue forging ahead.
