Hisham Badawi

Dr Badawi is an Orthodontist, University Professor, Speaker and Entrepreneur. He practices in Calgary Alberta, teaches at the University of Alberta, lectures all over the world and is the founder of Oral4D Systems Ltd. Oral4D Systems is a tech start-up with the bold objective of changing the method of clinical documentation in the dental and medical world. Dr. Badawi believes in full utilization of computer technologies to solve our pains and improve our life, Oral4D is all about utilizing 3D graphics to replace text. Dr. Badawi completed his DDS at Jordan University of Science and Technology, then his MSc at the Eastman dental institute, University College London. He acquired the fellowship of the Royal College of Edinburgh before moving on to do his PhD at the University of Alberta in Edmonton Canada. Dr. Badawi currently maintains a busy private practice in Calgary Alberta and holds a part-time Associate Professor position at the University of Alberta where he carries out his orthodontic biomechanics research. He maintains a very busy schedule between his full-time private practice and his research interests at the University of Alberta. He is very active in the field of three dimensional orthodontic biomechanics research. The research team at the University of Alberta, contribute to some of the most ground breaking research in the field of orthodontic biomechanics. In an attempt to study orthodontic force systems of fixed appliances, Dr. Badawi with a research team at the University of Alberta in Edmonton Canada, built the Orthodontic Simulator. This Apparatus (for the first time in the history of orthodontics) measures the forces applied on all the teeth in the dental arch simultaneously in 3D, creating a new frontier in orthodontic biomechanics research. Dr. Badawi uses this new insight into 3D orthodontic fixed appliance mechanics to customize his force delivery systems providing the most efficient orthodontic force systems.

Javad Sadeghi
CEO and Co-founder of Physio4D
Javad Sadeghi, a PhD graduate in the area of Computer Graphics and a Post Doctoral Researcher in the area of Information Visualization both from the University of Calgary, leads the business and product development of Physio4D. He has been a co-founder of two start-ups in Iran and Canada with over 5 years of executive experience. The first company that he co-founded is now a major provider of web portals for online businesses in Iran. His second start-up provides a mobile technology for extracting upper-body measurements of the consumers from their photographs for suggesting the best retail fit. Javad has half a dozen papers distributed in distinguished publishers such as Elsevier.
