Jeff Calvert

Jeff has over 20 years’ experience in corporate finance, business leadership and B2B sales & marketing, including over five years’ experience in international carbon markets and carbon project development. Before joining ERA as Chief Financial Officer in 2010, Jeff was Managing Director at Borealis Carbon Offsets, a firm he founded with a diverse group of companies in Northern British Columbia. While at Borealis, he led the first significant transactions of Canadian carbon offsets into the American voluntary market through a global partnership with EcoSecurities. Since joining ERA, Jeff led corporate finance and public company reporting functions, as well as acting as executive sponsor of the Offsetters and CCC acquisition. Jeff holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Western Ontario as well as a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Royal Roads University and is a Professional Engineer licensed in Ontario. He is technically trained as a papermaker, initially managing clients in consumer goods, packaging and specialty paper manufacture. Jeff left papermaking for biotechnology, working for a leading Canadian cellulose ethanol firm in application technology and business development before an extended sabbatical on motorcycle through the Caribbean, South and Central America. He lives with his wife, two kids and a large yellow dog in North Vancouver.

John Chase

John has over 25 years of business and financial experience. He has worked for Amazon.com’s marketplace division, Exchange.com, an early competitor of eBay, and Rounder Records – the world’s largest independent record label. Massachusetts-based Exchange.com was an online marketplace that specialized in niche markets, such as rare books, and eventually purchased Bibliofind.com – one of AbeBooks’ early competitors. Amazon then acquired both Exchange.com and Bibilofind, and John relocated to Amazon’s Seattle headquarters in 1999. John initially served as chief financial executive for Amazon’s fledgling marketplace division before being appointed director of finance, planning and analysis. He also spent two years in AbeBooks’ hometown of Victoria, BC, (2003-2005) with Power Measurement – the energy management technology firm – as its chief financial officer.
