HelloSafe is an international online insurance policy comparison platform. It is a completely free site, made available to consumers with the aim of helping them to facilitate their choice of insurance, and to bring more transparency to a market that is often lacking.

Tell us about yourself?

Before working as the editor-in-chief and spokesperson for HelloSafe, I previously worked as a journalist, both in the political and economic fields. I has also collaborated as a copywriter with many companies working in the insurance, real estate and tourism sectors. I hold a degree in political science and a master’s degree in international law.

If you could go back in time a year or two, what piece of advice would you give yourself?

Work hard, take opportunities when they come, and believe in yourself.

What problem does your business solve?

When he created the company, our founder had the feeling that poor access to transparent information in the insurance market was very bad for people. HelloSafe bring transparency to customers when they come to pick up an insurance company or when they purchase financial or banking products. We therefore help them make the most out of their money, comparing the best deals in only a few seconds.

What is the inspiration behind your business?

The company was created on a terrible observation: people suffering from serious illnesses are often (or almost always) excluded from mortgage loans, which prevents them from carrying out their personal and family projects. Originally, it was this terrible observation that inspired HelloSafe to give everyone true equal access to finance and insurance products. Today we are proud to provide access to transparent information to millions of Canadians every year.

What is your magic sauce?

We stand out from the competition with unique comparison technology, powered by our great team of developers. They have created a set of tools that allow us to offer a unique comparison experience to our visitors, and it is in this sense that we are revolutionizing this very competitive market. We are also working every day to improve the customer experience again and again on all of our platforms.

What is the plan for the next 5 years? What do you want to achieve?

Our 5-year ambition is to become the number 1 comparator in Canada, both in Quebec and in the English-speaking provinces. We are really committed to serving ever further, ever better, ever more consumers, by helping them get the most out of their money.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced so far?

In the beginning, it wasn’t necessarily easy to find our audience. The first months were difficult, and the first figures disappointing. However, little by little, we have improved the quality of our content, we have improved our customer experience, and now millions of Canadians visit our site every month! We are really very happy with this success, and we are working hard to make sure it lasts.

How do people get involved/buy into your vision?

We really care about interacting with our users, so we really invite them to interact with us to give us their opinion via all the channels we make available to them, ie: comments, our contact form , reviews on Google or TrustPilot. Indeed, this feedback is very valuable to allow us to improve our platforms and the experiences offered to our users. So, to all our visitors, do not hesitate to get in touch with us, we will be very happy to listen to you!
