A QUICK INTRODUCTION ABOUT WHAT YOUR COMPANY DOES/YOUR VALUES/MISSION.

Docere Health is the world’s first no-code telemedicine platform, that helps doctors launch and manage their own virtual clinic by unlocking the potential for them to double their income from the comfort of their homes.
We are creating a platform where Shopify meets Fiverr in health care. What I mean by that is in exchange of 3,000$/year subscription fee that we charge doctors, we help them manage their financials, administrative tasks, workflow, marketing, branding, knowledge, 3D templates(during the call with a patient) and they can create their own website or web application for their clinic customized however they want to, and most importantly they don’t any coding skills to do that. While on the other side, patients get quality and consistent care through the platform. Join 170+ that are already using the platform on our journey to turn doctors into entrepreneurs or as we like to call them Doctorpreneurs.

TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF?

My name is Luka Lamaj, and I’m the co-founder & CEO of Docere Health, a startup that aims to revolutionize the healthcare system. My journey has been one of immense sacrifice and perseverance, and it all began with my work on a research paper about the healthcare systems in Canada and the USA, which I did with my professor.

From that research, I saw an opportunity to make a real difference in people’s lives by improving the way healthcare is delivered. I knew I wanted to take this idea and turn it into a reality.

As an immigrant from Albania, I faced many challenges along the way. I come from a family of humble means, and I had to live with a friend, sleeping on the floor, just to make ends meet. But I was determined to make my dream a reality.

My journey has also been marked by personal struggles. I have struggled with clinical depression. But despite these challenges, I’ve remained committed to my goal.

To make Docere Health a reality, I knew I needed to gain valuable research experience and learn from experts in the field. That’s why I worked with doctors at the Montreal Institute of Heart, and in just three months, we conducted a clinical trial with 200 doctors about our MVP, which had an 85% conversion rate.

Now, I’m more determined than ever to make Docere Health a success. This startup is my chance to make a real difference in people’s lives. I know it won’t be easy, but I’m willing to do whatever it takes to make it happen.

My journey to Docere Health has been one of sacrifice, perseverance, and determination. As an immigrant entrepreneur, I’ve faced many challenges along the way, but I’ve remained committed to my goal of making a difference in people’s lives. With Docere Health, I’m confident that I can achieve that goal, and I’m excited to see what the future holds.

IF YOU COULD GO BACK IN TIME A YEAR OR TWO, WHAT PIECE OF ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE YOURSELF?

If I could go back in time a year or two, the piece of advice I would give myself would be to embrace the philosophy of Stoicism, as taught by great thinkers like Marcus Aurelius.

Stoicism is a philosophy that emphasizes the importance of living in accordance with reason and nature, and of accepting whatever happens with equanimity and calmness of mind. In other words, it teaches us to focus on what we can control and to let go of what we can’t.

Looking back on the past year or two, I can see many instances where I allowed myself to be overwhelmed by circumstances that were beyond my control. Whether it was a personal setback, a business challenge, or a global pandemic, I often found myself feeling anxious and stressed about things that were outside of my power to change.

If I had embraced Stoicism earlier, I would have been better equipped to face these challenges with a more positive and constructive mindset. I would have been able to focus my energy on the things that were within my control, such as my own actions and attitudes, rather than wasting time and energy worrying about things that were outside of my influence.

The wisdom of Stoicism reminds us that the key to a fulfilling life is not to avoid hardship or adversity, but to face it with courage, resilience, and inner strength. By cultivating these qualities within ourselves, we can find meaning and purpose in even the most difficult circumstances, and we can grow and learn from our challenges rather than being defeated by them.

So, my advice to myself would be to embrace the wisdom of the Stoics, to focus on what I can control, and to cultivate an attitude of resilience and equanimity in the face of adversity. By doing so, I believe I could have faced the challenges of the past year or two with greater grace and wisdom, and emerged stronger and wiser for the experience.

WHAT PROBLEM DOES YOUR BUSINESS SOLVE?

Docere’s story begins when I was working on a research paper with mine professors that targeted the problems of the primary health care system in Canada.

One of the problems was undoubtedly the lack of family doctors, due to two main reasons: they don’t make enough while suffering from clinical burnout by owning their own business, which causes indirectly the lack of access to health care in this country.

The empirical statistics obtained from this research:
the average gross income for a family physician in Canada is around $280,000, while dermatologist for example is $380,000.

Due to the limited population in rural areas, family doctors have fewer patients compared to urban areas.
in 1998, 32% of Canadian medical graduates entered family medicine residency programs, while in 2016, only 18% did so.3% of family doctors leave Canada every year, mostly to go to U.S.The cost to open a physical clinic is $250,000 so our platform is a way cheaper option.
Family Doctors earn extra income through our platform (they need to have 40 visits/year to break even). We reduce their PAC (Patient Acquisition Cost).Doctors can work with Canadian Patients from wherever and whenever they can and want. Our tools make it very easy for doctors to manage appointments, knowledge, finances and patient data.

While on the other side of the marketplace, Canadian citizens can find family doctors whenever they need, and we promise them consistent and quality care.

WHAT IS THE INSPIRATION BEHIND YOUR BUSINESS?

Docere Health is a revolutionary telemedicine platform that aims to solve the problem of inefficient and outdated healthcare systems. The inspiration behind our business comes from the desire to create a better and more accessible healthcare experience for both doctors and patients.

We believe that the traditional healthcare model is broken, and that there is a better way to deliver quality care. Our platform is designed to empower doctors to launch and manage their own virtual clinic with ease, using a no-code system that eliminates the need for coding or business skills. This way, they can focus on delivering the best care possible to their patients without being bogged down by administrative or financial tasks.

We are also committed to helping doctors double their income by enabling them to work from the comfort of their own homes, while still providing quality care to patients. This not only benefits doctors, but also patients, who can access consistent care through our platform.

By providing doctors with a range of tools and resources, including financial management, marketing, branding, and knowledge sharing, we are creating a platform that is both empowering and accessible.

Ultimately, our goal is to create a healthcare ecosystem that is more efficient, accessible, and affordable for everyone. By combining the ease of Shopify with the flexibility of Fiverr, we are creating a platform that is unique in the healthcare industry, and we are proud to be leading the charge towards a better healthcare future.

WHAT IS YOUR MAGIC SAUCE?

At Docere Health, our magic sauce lies in our ability to empower doctors who are just starting their careers. We focus on individual doctors who have recently graduated, rather than large clinics or hospitals, because we believe that they are the future of healthcare.

Our no-code telemedicine platform is the first of its kind in the world, and it allows doctors to create and manage their own virtual clinic with ease. We have taken care to ensure that our platform is accessible and user-friendly, even for those with no coding or business skills.

By empowering doctors to become Doctorpreneurs, we are not only helping them to make more money, but also to avoid clinical burnout that is often associated with running a physical clinic. Our platform allows doctors to work from the comfort of their own homes, while still providing quality care to their patients.

We are proud to be leading the charge towards a better healthcare future.

WHAT IS THE PLAN FOR THE NEXT 5 YEARS? WHAT DO YOU WANT TO ACHIEVE?

At Docere Health, our plan for the next five years is ambitious but achievable. Our goal is to help family doctors in North America, and to reduce the number of North Americans who do not have a family doctor. Currently, there are approximately 66,000,000 million people in North America who do not have a family doctor, and we believe that our platform can help to address this critical issue.

Over the next five years, we plan to expand our reach and impact by working with more doctors and patients across North America. We want to help family doctors establish and grow their virtual clinics, so that they can provide quality care to patients who may not have access to traditional in-person care.

In order to achieve this goal, we will be focusing on several key areas. Firstly, we will be expanding our marketing and outreach efforts to reach more doctors and patients across North America. We believe that there is a huge demand for our platform, and we want to ensure that we are able to connect with as many doctors and patients as possible.

Secondly, we will be investing in the development of new features and tools for our platform. We believe that by continually improving and expanding our platform, we can provide even greater value to doctors and patients alike.

Finally, we will be working closely with healthcare organizations and government agencies to advocate for the use of telemedicine and virtual care. We believe that virtual care is the future of healthcare, and we want to do everything in our power to ensure that more people have access to quality care, regardless of their location or financial means.

Overall, our plan for the next five years is to continue to innovate and push the boundaries of what is possible in healthcare. We are committed to helping family doctors in North America, and to reducing the number of North Americans who do not have access to quality care. We believe that with hard work, determination, and a little bit of innovation, we can achieve this goal and make a real difference in the world

WHAT IS THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE YOU’VE FACED SO FAR?

The biggest challenge that Docere Health has faced so far is a combination of funding, legal, and business model issues. As a first-time founder and immigrant, I had difficulty securing funding from investors who may be hesitant to trust a young entrepreneur. Additionally, the company had to pivot its business model when it became clear that their initial approach was not viable. Finally, there have been legal challenges in Canada, where the company is based, that have required careful attention and resources to navigate.

Despite these challenges, I and my team have persevered and remained focused on their goal of improving healthcare by empowering family doctors to launch and manage their own virtual clinics. By adapting their business model and seeking out creative solutions to funding and legal issues, Docere Health is well-positioned to continue making a positive impact in the healthcare industry.
