Curtis Cook is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Vesta Energy Corp, the first commercial source shale oil company in Canada. He has 25 years of industry experience working throughout the Western Canadian basins. Mr. Cook started his career with Renaissance Energy Ltd, working as a production and reservoir engineer. He successfully founded, grew and monetized two other private companies; a heavy oil business and a shallow gas business, both in Western Canada. Mr. Cook earned a BSC in Mechanical Engineering and a BA in French Literature from the University of Calgary in 1993.

Marc Lanero is Vice-President of Supply- Chain and Chief Procurement Officer for Cenovus Energy, an integrated oil company based in Calgary. Prior to joining Cenovus, Marc was Managing Director of Lex Et Mercatur GmbH, a consulting firm based in Zurich, Switzerland, driving value for worldwide market leaders from the aerospace and industrial sectors. Marc started his career in Montreal in 1995 as a contract administrator for Bombardier Aerospace where he held roles of increasing importance, leaving as Director of procurement for the Customer Support Business Units, supporting a fleet of over 4000 aircrafts. He joined Lafarge in 2003 as Director of Marketing and Strategy for the Northeast Cement Business before moving to the Head Office in Paris to lead the sourcing and procurement centralization and management of 50 business units in 30 countries of Europe, the Middle-East and Africa as Zone V.P. Purchasing for EMEA. After leaving Lafarge in 2011, Marc then held the position of CPO for AGT International in Switzerland. Marc holds a Law Degree from the University of Ottawa, a MBA from McGill University and is a member of the Quebec Bar Association.

Mr. Shook has over 23 years of experience as an interpreting geophysicist with Forent and PanCanadian/EnCana. Mr. Shook has vast experience in evaluating hydrocarbon potential and selecting drilling locations in Western Canada, Northern Canada, the Gulf of Mexico, the Middle East, and the Canadian East Coast. He brings to Forent very strong experience in hydrocarbon prospecting, new play evaluation, exploration strategy, risk assessment & portfolio management. Tim Laska
Vice President, Exploration of Forent Energy
Mr. Laska has over 26 years of exploration and development experience across the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin. He obtained his Master’s degree in Business Administration and cross trained in Reservoir Engineering while working for PanCanadian Petroleum. Mr. Laska has held positions of increasing responsibility with both senior and junior exploration and production companies including Ultramar Oil and Gas, PanCanadian Petroleum, Elk Point Resources and Lario Oil and Gas Company. His technical strengths include prospect generation and evaluation, acquisition evaluation and upside determination, reserves evaluations and corporate strategic planning.
