Roland Wolfram

Roland has had a wide-ranging career at Nike, Pacific Telesis, and McKinsey and Company. During Roland’s 17 year-long career at Nike, he held a variety of global functional roles and multi-billion dollar geographic roles, including Global Operations and Technology, Global Sales, Asia Pacific Region, Emerging Markets Region, and Global Football Category (soccer). At Pacific Telesis and McKinsey, Roland worked on projects in Silicon Valley with leading high-technology companies. He currently serves as a Board Advisor to Tillamook Creamery (a leading dairy co-operative in the Pacific Northwest) and is involved as an advisor/investor in several technology and brand oriented companies. Roland has a BS in Electrical Engineering from University of Maryland and an MBA from the Wharton School at University of Pennsylvania.

Ian Hand

Ian is the managing director for the VentureLabs multi-institutional technology accelerator partnership, associate director of Simon Fraser University’s Innovation Office and a champion for innovation, entrepreneurship and business incubation in BC. As a repeat entrepreneur, investor, director and advisor to technology businesses, Ian has worked with technology firms around the world in the advanced materials, communications, digital media, health technologies, and energy sectors. He served as managing partner at two private investment firms with responsibilities for investments, mergers and acquisitions, and divestitures structuring more than $750 million in equity and debt financings. As an adjunct professor, Ian teaches entrepreneurship, corporate and applied finance and other topics at leading Universities across BC and Canada, as well as internationally. He is a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of BC, the Institute of Corporate Directors, the Canadian Association of Business Incubation and the National Business Incubator Association.

Nick Deeter
Chief Strategy Officer & Director of CarbonOne Technologies
Mr. Deeter brings more than 30 years of business leadership experience to his role with CarbonOne. Mr. Deeter has founded, invested in and grown numerous companies, focused primarily in the health care industry. Most recently Mr. Deeter invested in Nextremity Solutions, Inc., a foot and ankle orthopedic implant company, and was Chairman of the Board and CEO until February 2016. Mr. Deeter is the founder of OrthoPediatrics, Corp., the world leader in pediatric orthopedics, and for eight years served as Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director. In these capacities, he leveraged his successful record of developing and commercializing medical innovations, orthopedic devices, and implants for the global health care market, and was instrumental in raising over $60 million in Regulation-D capital. OrthoPediatrics Corp. plans to go public this summer 2016 on the NASDAQ trading under the symbol “KIDS”. Mr. Deeter’s distinguished orthopedic and medical device career began at Zimmer, Inc. and includes more than three decades of executive leadership positions for other well‐respected medical organizations. Prior to forming OrthoPediatrics, he spent seven years with DePuy Orthopaedics, a Johnson & Johnson company. Mr. Deeter also served as founder, Chairman, President and CEO of ViAtro, Corp., Vice President of University Technology Inc. at Case Western Reserve University, and President of Medical Ventures Ltd., a venture capital firm that initially funded STERIS Corp. Mr. Deeter earned an MBA from Case Western Reserve University and a B.Sc. from Purdue University.
