Sam loves the challenge of building a unique balance between 21st century business smarts and unfettered creative genius. Rarely can these two forces co-exist in an organization and Hyper Hippo is a rare example of the best of both worlds working together. Prior to joining the adventure at Hyper Hippo, Sam was heavily involved in software technology and real estate development. Having been a founder and C-suite executive in various successful companies over the past 20 years, Sam has a full-appreciation of the commitment required for high-performance teams to succeed in competitive marketplaces. Sam’s most recent position prior to Hyper Hippo saw him as the Executive-in-Residence at Accelerate Okanagan and Chief Financial Officer at Mill Creek Group of Companies. Sam completed his Master of Business Administration from Ivey Business School in 1993 and he still loves to learn every day.

Lynette joined the Vancouver Airport Authority in April 2016 and is responsible for all aspects of Information Technology at Vancouver International Airport (YVR). Lynette will leverage digital technologies and business intelligence to deliver efficient operations, seamless passenger experiences and reach YVR’s sustainability targets. She has exceptional team development and project management skills which will help to shape YVR’s future as a perceptive airport. Lynette holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of New Brunswick. She has an extensive history in the construction and IT industry, owning her own consulting firm and working with clients such as Weyerhaeuser and Highland Valley Copper Mine. Lynette joined BC Lottery Corporation (BCLC) in 2003 and held the position of Chief Information Officer from 2007.

Peter Payne

Peter is President and CEO of Health Tech Innovation Foundation: Innovation Boulevard; Adjunct Professor, Beedie School of Business; and Associate Director of Coast Capital Savings’ Venture Connection. He has founded and operated over eight companies including several medical devices successfully marketed in Canada, the USA, Europe and Asia. Peter has been involved with government organizations, private and public companies, reverse take-overs, venture capital corporations and not-for-profit groups and is an active investor. He has been an invited speaker at international conferences, holds a number of patents and has received several awards for his work. He is also the past Director of Programs at the BC Technology Industry Association, and Executive-in-Residence for health technologies where he developed their Centre4Growth and HyperGrowth Accelerator programs. Peter was also a mentor in entrepreneurship programs for Genome and Life Sciences companies at UBC, and a mentor for the SFU Segal Graduate School of Business, MBA program.
