Bruce Dewar

Bruce has more than 35 years of experience consulting with private companies and public agencies, including international projects spanning 12 countries. As President and CEO of LIFT, Bruce leads the organization into the field of venture philanthropy. Bruce was involved with the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games for more than 12 years, including work in the tourism, business and social sectors. As CEO of 2010 Legacies Now, he developed and supported projects to help British Columbia leverage the Games into lasting legacies for the entire province. Prior to joining 2010 Legacies Now, Bruce was President of a Vancouver-based consulting firm where he assisted private companies and public agencies to develop and implement strategic plans, often in response to times of great transformation. Bruce previously sat as a director for the Vancouver Board of Trade, the Whistler Centre for Sustainability, Tourism Vancouver and the Hong Kong Canada Business Association. He also chaired the boards of the Laurier Institute, Vancouver, Coast and Mountains Tourism Region and the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden, along with BCIT’s International Trade and Transportation Program Advisory Committee. Bruce holds a Master of Science in Management of Technology from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He has guest lectured at various post-secondary institutions in the areas of international business, entrepreneurship and cultural tourism. Karin Kirkpatrick

Assuming her role in February 2017, Karin Kirkpatrick serves as the CEO of Family Services of Greater Vancouver, a Canadian organization geared toward helping individuals of all ages achieve their highest potential. Karin Kirkpatrick has also served as an adjunct faculty member at the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia for the past 11 years, providing instruction to both undergraduate and graduate students on topics such as employee relations and organizational behavior. Prior to her current posts, Ms. Kirkpatrick was CEO of the Real Estate Foundation, a charitable group established as a result of the Real Estate Services Act. Before entering her professional career, Karin Kirkpatrick earned an MBA from Royal Roads University in Victoria, BC. From there, she went on to graduate from the School of Law at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland as a master of laws with special emphasis on international law and practice. She serves on the board of the Judicial Council of British Columbia.

Peter is President and CEO of Health Tech Innovation Foundation: Innovation Boulevard; Adjunct Professor, Beedie School of Business; and Associate Director of Coast Capital Savings’ Venture Connection. He has founded and operated over eight companies including several medical devices successfully marketed in Canada, the USA, Europe and Asia. Peter has been involved with government organizations, private and public companies, reverse take-overs, venture capital corporations and not-for-profit groups and is an active investor. He has been an invited speaker at international conferences, holds a number of patents and has received several awards for his work.
