DynaGaunt is an early-stage startup that aims to leverage proprietary technology and scientific knowledge to create innovative solutions in the wearable medical devices industry. Our mission is to help prevent work-related carpal tunnel syndrome. We strive to assist people working in occupations prone to carpal tunnel syndrome to mitigate their risk of developing this condition and maintain healthier wrist posture through our products.
Our flagship product is the DynaGaunt, a smart ergonomic wrist support paired with a mobile app that helps detect early symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome and guides users toward adopting healthier posture over time. We believe this technology can make a meaningful difference in preventing repetitive strain injuries for office and computer workers.
Tell us about yourself?
With over twelve years of experience in medical device management and sales, I’ve honed my skills in customer relations and B2B strategies. What brought me into this work is a passion for entrepreneurship and a desire to address the challenges of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS).
As the Executive Director of DynaGaunt, I’m responsible for customer development, competitor analysis, business strategy, sales team oversight, and customer relationship management.
My goal is to lead DynaGaunt in providing innovative solutions to improve the lives of individuals at risk of CTS, enhancing their well-being and comfort.
If you could go back in time a year or two, what piece of advice would you give yourself?
If I could go back a year or two, I’d remind myself to prioritize innovation, technology, and adaptability in our industry. Staying at the forefront of technological advancements, fostering strong partnerships, and being agile in the face of challenges are key to our success at DynaGaunt.
What problem does your business solve?
DynaGaunt solves the problem of work-related injuries and disorders, specifically carpal tunnel syndrome, for people in occupations requiring extended computer use. It provides a preventative solution through its smart wearable wrist device and app.
What is the inspiration behind your business?
The founders were inspired to create DynaGaunt based on the prevalence of carpal tunnel syndrome among office professionals and the lack of sufficient preventative solutions on the market. They aim to leverage technology to provide an ergonomic support tool that reduces the risks of this condition for frequent computer users.
What is your magic sauce?
Our magic sauce is its unique integration of wearable technology and AI for early symptom detection and haptic feedback guidance on wrist posture. This sets it apart from braces that simply restrict movement or rely on manual user correction. DynaGaunt takes a proactive approach to prevention.
What is the plan for the next 5 years? What do you want to achieve?
In the next 5 years, DynaGaunt aims to establish itself as a leading preventative solution for computer-related repetitive strain injuries. The goal is to continue refining the technology and expand the user base to 80,000 people. Additional products and features will be added over time as well.
What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced so far?
The biggest challenge faced so far was building knowledge and experience around starting and operating a business in Canada, since the founding team was not previously familiar with this environment. Mentorships and professional services have helped overcome this hurdle.
How do people get involved/buy into your vision?
We want people in occupations with high computer usage, such as office professionals, remote workers, freelancers, and streamers, to adopt DynaGaunt to take control of their wrist health and prevent carpal tunnel syndrome. Interested users can visit our website to order our product and download the app to get started. We also welcome inquiries from enterprises interested in providing DynaGaunt to their employees.
