Greenlight Content helps business owners strategically craft copy that will make a real impact on their business using the art and science of copywriting and content marketing. Our services include content strategy, website copy, blog writing, email marketing, and more.

Tell us about yourself?

With over 15 years of experience working in editorial & content marketing, I’ve worked and written for notable brands and publications including Yahoo, The Daily Mail, Rogers, Bell, The Globe & Mail, British Airways and more.

As a trained journalist, I spent years in Canada and the UK working for media companies and marketing agencies crafting high-impact copy and award-winning content marketing strategies.

I also have more than 10 years of experience using HubSpot’s sales and marketing automation platform to design, build and deliver content marketing programs.

Today, I own and operates Greenlight Content, a content marketing consultancy based in Hamilton, Ontario that provides clear, concise and compelling copy and content for her clients.

If you could go back in time a year or two, what piece of advice would you give yourself?

Be kind to yourself and learn from every mistake.

What problem does your business solve?

Help maxed out business owners who don’t have the time, skill or inclination to write their own copy.

We take a strategic approach to creating content and copy that aligns with their business objectives while speaking directly to their target audience.

What is the inspiration behind your business?

I have a lot of experience in editorial and content marketing and I’ve always wanted to use my background and experience and go out on my own.

I was on mat leave when the pandemic started and had no job to go back to when my mat leave was finished, so I was sort of forced to start my own business.

I really love working directly with small business owners to help tell their story in a clear, concise and compelling way.

What is your magic sauce?

I take a background in editorial and storytelling and fuse it with almost a decade of strategic marketing experience to deliver high impact writing for my clients.

What is the plan for the next 5 years? What do you want to achieve?

I want to continue to build my brand locally and support local businesses. I’d also like to grow my team, and add on some more writers to help me serve my clients.

I’d also like to continue to give back to the community through mentorship and as a board member for literacy-based non-profits.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced so far?

Understanding pricing – how to price my services so they are a fair reflection of the value I’m providing my clients.

I started out undercharging but it’s taken me a while to figure out how to position myself and rates. I’m still learning too!

How do people get involved/buy into your vision?

I want to collaborate with small business owners who need help telling their story in a compelling way.

I’ve had a lot of success offering a content strategy workshop to help lay the foundation for their brand messaging and positioning that helps inform all the copy and content they create for their brand.
