Renterii is a modern rental platform – that connects users to nearby businesses and individuals renting out everyday items nearby.

Providing renters and lenders in over 2k Canadian communities; with a centralized, safe, and cashless option to process item rentals in one place from each other.

Having a collective mission as a technology startup in creating a modern tool that fits with a person’s everyday lifestyle regardless of location.

Tell us about yourself?

After graduating with a major in Sociology at the University of Winnipeg, and attaining additional education in Business Innovation at the University of Toronto – I went on to join SkipTheDishes as a Sr. Growth Executive at both their Winnipeg and Toronto HQs.

Along with the organization’s inspiring environment while working there – I developed a passion for community and technology which led me to start a peer-to-peer platform called Renterii in which I’m currently CEO of.

If you could go back in time a year or two, what piece of advice would you give yourself?

Don’t be scared to be vulnerable.

Additional to yourself, see it as your biggest strength in this startup adventure.

What problem does your business solve?

Along with other Millennials, I believe the existing consumer rental market is dated + can be improved.

Having the current process to connect with these existing rental businesses be difficult when trying to rent from them – based on the low online presence they carry, multiple booking processes, and inconsistent rental terms.

Allowing room for a modern platform like Renterii to solve this problem by offering a centralized booking approach to renters, and lenders based on their location – where they can efficiently discover, communicate and process rental transactions amongst each other safely in one place.

What is the inspiration behind your business?

The idea for Renterii stemmed from a past trip on the West Coast where the accessibility for me to rent a kayak wasn’t as easy nor as modern as I thought it should be (not the biggest fan of multiple google searches, and phone calls)

So it was after experiencing this; That I decided to build a tool that I hope would provide millennials like me, the accessibility to discover and book rental items more efficiently for their next adventure or DIY activity.

What is your magic sauce?

Our growing Renterii community and the obsession our team has with building them a modern rental platform; that fits with their individual lifestyle needs – now and in the future.

What is the plan for the next 5 years? What do you want to achieve?

Be the market leader and top-of-mind platform of usage for users in the space.

While continuing to build an innovative foundation, that is built around providing value to an engaging, and growing Renterii community nationally, and across borders.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced so far?

Building a startup is full of daily waves; Some big, some small – it’s just about seeing them as the same difficulty level of challenge and surfing them the same.

How do people get involved/buy into your vision?

We’d love to hear from potential Renterii partners in the rental services, such as consumer goods rental shops, tools + equipment rental services, and lodging – if you are looking to extend your discoverability, and increase your revenue opportunities. Shoot me an email personally at jordan@renterii.com

While additionally, we are always happy to chat with investors that see the unique value that we are building.
