We can track our food delivery but don’t always know where dangerous goods and hazardous waste are within our communities. EnviroApps is on a mission to change that through digital shipping documents, one truck at a time. We make lives easier by enhancing safety, ensuring compliance, lowering costs and enabling ESG data gathering effortlessly.

Tell us about yourself?

I have more than 22 years of widely varied experience in a consulting and industry environment and have a successful track record of designing and facilitating implementation of software solutions to manage Environmental and Regulatory Compliance for the Energy Industry. It was the pain I had to go through dealing with the archaic paper processes that made me work on a better way!

If you could go back in time a year or two, what piece of advice would you give yourself?

Be persistent and follow your passion, success comes naturally.

What problem does your business solve?

EnviroApps is transforming the way dangerous goods, hazardous waste and water use is being tracked. We have a proven digital solution that enhances safety, ensures compliance, lowers costs and enables ESG data gathering effortlessly.

What is the inspiration behind your business?

The pain that I had to go through as an industry regulatory compliance professional dealing with archaic processes led me to form EnviroApps along with my high school classmate. We help Consignors, Carriers and Receivers of dangerous goods, waste and water, reduce compliance risk and provide reliable ESG reporting data, at a fraction of their current cost and efforts.

What is your magic sauce?

We have the learnings and first mover advantage in the Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) electronic shipping documentation. We are the first and only company so far to offer a commercial solution for transportation of dangerous goods by road that has been approved and tested by Transport Canada. This is the transformation of a 40 year old process. We have been nominated for Global Energy Show Awards under Disruptive Digital Innovator and Suzanne West Environmental Excellence categories.

What is the plan for the next 5 years? What do you want to achieve?

In the next 5 years, we plan to solve the problem in other countries as this is a global issue and most countries still require paper forms. We want to scale-up and become a global software company that solves niche problems.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced so far?

The biggest challenge we have faced so far is the resistance to change. The old adage of “don’t fix it, if it ain’t broken” should be thrown away! We all need to be always on the lookout for making lives easier…

How do people get involved/buy into your vision?

We want to help progressive companies that deal with transportation of dangerous goods or waste and want to enhance safety, ensure compliance and save costs at the same time. Please check out our website and do not hesitate to reach out.
