Cyberspline Games Inc, a Canadian start-up video game production/publishing company based in Vancouver, Canada launched their first Virtual Reality (VR) game, Boombox, in summer 2021 and getting ready for production of the second cross-platform game [VR/Switch/PC/Console], to be launched in late 2023.

BoomBox has been funded by Canada Media Fund via experimental program due to its innovative aspect.

OUR MISSION: To transform our love for adventure and story telling into memorable interactive creations that capture the imagination and inspire gamers.


Our employees share a keen sense of adventure both outdoors and in the world of video games. This plays a large part in our creativity. We value passionate people because they come up with some of the most imaginative ideas.

Playing games is a lot of fun and whether we play alone or in a team, we form part of a larger gaming community and this knowledge helps us to develop games with the community in mind. We value our community, we respect their knowledge and input and we’re always striving to include them in our development process.

As a small team of developers, we function around a set of expectations or values. We didn’t just write these because they sound great. We work by them.

Tell us about yourself?

I have always been creative. A prolific reader, I am also a writer of poetry and music. I’ve even tried my hand at writing a book. From an early age video games were a part of my life and I still find time to play Diablo, Warhammer and VR Rhythm games while running two businesses and managing to make time to head out to the gym.

​​While music and games are my passion, I am keenly interested in psychology and communication. I spend a lot of time chatting with counterparts online forming friendships and learning from them.

I feel at home at Cyberspline. It’s been an opportunity to work with and lead so many amazing people who have in turn supported my creative potential. I absolutely love my team. It’s a great feeling one gets when we all realize we are on the same page. It’s more of a family business at Cyberspline.

As a gamer, it’s my dream to create perfect and well thought out video games. As an AI professional with a PhD focused on Machine Learning, I am motivated to produce games where the harmonization between real players and Artificial Intelligence is seamless.

If you could go back in time a year or two, what piece of advice would you give yourself?

Always believe in yourself: being different is not a bad thing – world is craving for unique ideas.

What problem does your business solve?

We are providing gamers with the way to have a healthy exercise, while having fun in VR.
We are also solving the problem of limited official content in VR Rhythm Games, providing the innovative way of sharing User Generated Content with all gamers directly from the game (without 3rd party tools)

What is the inspiration behind your business?

Our Founder & Producer, Luca Cresciullo, is the inspiration and the heart of Cyberspline. He is the key to our success: Luca grew up playing many board games, D&D, Warhammer and Magic. He is a big fan of the epic fantasy genre, and his absolute favorite is the dark-gothic medieval universe.

Luca is passionate about Game Design and, led by him, the company is aiming to create the most immersive and satisfying games. We want to be able to directly impact the gaming industry by applying all the love and dedication for games into carefully crafted gaming experiences.

What is your magic sauce?

We are gamers first, and we deeply care about our community, modders, and musicians. We work directly with the community on the desired aspects and features of the games.

We also engaged with the modders, sharing some of our code to allow community to create their own helpful tools. We believe that, when working together, we can create the most amazing gaming experiences.

What is the plan for the next 5 years? What do you want to achieve?

We are aiming to develop and publish our next game, while taking care of the updates and additional downloadable content for our current game, BoomBox.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced so far?

The hardest challenge that we faced during our production was COVID and lock-down. Families were suffering, and it was hard to keep the positive mood and inspiration. The team was supporting each other, but we were still highly affected by COVID

How do people get involved/buy into your vision?

We are always looking for more streamers / influencers and musicians. Modders are very welcome to join us, so if you have a great idea for the game mod, let us know.
