July 10, 2022

E-Tech has been providing system support and information technology consulting services to our clients since 2005. We attribute our strength and success to our close working relationship with each and every one of our clients – regardless of size.

We design our services specifically to help our clients succeed in today’s complex business environment, keeping in mind our client’s goals, objectives, and bottom lines.

Since our inception, we have been establishing a strong bond with small to medium businesses and not-for-profits by delivering cyber security protection, website hosting services, IT support solutions, and website design services.

Tell us about yourself?

I started E-Tech in 2005, providing managed IT services and Web Hosting specializing in the Not For Profit and Small to Medium Business. Over the past 25+ years of service, I’m proud to have grown my company from just 1 employee, to 15+, and have expanded across North America – reaching as far as the Caribbean island of Barbados.

If you could go back in time a year or two, what piece of advice would you give yourself?

Never be afraid of reaching for your goals. As an exceptional industry leader, building strong relationships through trust and reliability, and to help our clients succeed in today’s complex business environment is very important.

What problem does your business solve?

We are committed to providing our customers with a cost effective way to maintain their business edge, by offering state of the art products, outstanding professional services, and superior technical expertise.

What is the inspiration behind your business?

There are many reasons why I chose to become a business owner, I made the decision to start my own business due to my position becoming redundant 17 years ago, I was the IT Manager for a company specializing in Member Engagement software. At that point, I decided that I had an opportunity to control my own destiny.

My ultimate goal is to help as many people as possible, being able to help people is one of the main benefits of being a business owner, I have hired over 50 people in the past 17+ years.

Business owners have the ability to be as creative as their heart desires, it is uniquely satisfying. As an entrepreneur, the actual process of building a business is creative in and of itself. When you own your own business, you get to shape the dreams of yourself and others.

Being your own boss might seem all about you but that isn’t the case. Firstly, there are your customers who you are helping with your products or services.

Then there are other businesses that you work with – MSP vendors and business partners. The main reason is that I get to hire smart, talented and innovative individuals and get to see them grow over the years, professionally and personally.

What is your magic sauce?

For over 17+ years, we’ve been consulting, hosting and maintaining iMIS clients. We are an authorized iMIS consultant, we also host iMIS which is something not many companies do in Canada which sets us apart from other competition.

What is the plan for the next 5 years? What do you want to achieve?

Over the next 5 years we plan to have the opportunity to work with organizations to continue to implement work from home business continuity plans and weaponize the end user, through Cyber Security Awareness Training webinars and eLearning modules, by arming them with the tools to prevent cyber attacks on their business. We also would like to continue to support small to medium sized businesses with managed IT and security services along with focusing on cloud hosting & consulting services.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced so far?

COVID continues to cause tremendous challenges for everyone, it is a global team effort to flatten the curve (Our collective mission: work from home, social and physical distancing and wear a mask in public).

This creates a tremendous opportunity for hackers, phishing attacks on small business has quadrupled since the onset of the pandemic.

The COVID crisis is not only forcing organizations to accelerate their digital transformations. It’s also causing a “worker transformation.

A part from getting users secure working from home, one challenge has been that many organizations did not have enough laptops or desktops to empower everyone to work from home and supply was immediately reduced for laptop and even webcams.

A large majority of organizations were forced to rely on devices the company does not own and can’t manage or trust and they have no idea what’s going on with the home network.

How do people get involved/buy into your vision?

We are always looking to help the small business, non profits and associations with their cyber security, website security and managed cloud services. You can reach us via phone 647-361-8191 or website www.etechcomputing.com
