Kate Bourque: bridge the gap between branding and digital marketing

October 5, 2023

Nioma is a marketing agency that aims to bridge the gap between branding and digital marketing. The future of branding is digital. We work with business owners to empower them with strategic services and support their growth at every step of the way. Our goal is to be your partner in growth. Working with us is like having your own marketing department, but better.

Tell us about yourself?

I have a design background, and originally started my career in graphic design. Working in small teams often forced me to wear multiple hats which led me into the world of marketing. I immediately fell in love and have been blending my passion for design, marketing and branding ever since. I’ve always loved designing, writing and anything creative, but I am also very analytical – so it makes sense that I’ve ended up here.

If you could go back in time a year or two, what piece of advice would you give yourself?

Good things take time. Some of your goals will be accomplished sooner than you ever imagined, while some might feel painfully slow. You need to trust the process and just keep putting in the work each day.

What problem does your business solve?

Many business owners struggle with building visibility for their company and reaching new customers – especially when they’re bogged down with operations. We take marketing off their plates so that they can focus on building their business. Our strategy-driven services aim to help them reach their goals, whether that’s building brand awareness, improving customer retention or expanding their reach to attract new clientele through content marketing, social media marketing, SEO or web design.

What is the inspiration behind your business?

I’ve always been inspired by entrepreneurship – this idea that you can have a vision and bring it to life, and turn that into something that can provide for you, your family, your team. I love working with other entrepreneurs of all kinds and getting to support them in their journeys. Each is unique and so interesting to me.

What is your magic sauce?

“We take a very flexible approach. We understand that things can change internally within a business in a short matter of time, and we are quick to adapt to support owners with their needs as they change or evolve. Our goal isn’t just to provide marketing services, but to provide the right marketing services that will offer the most impact.

I also like to keep our clients involved in the process. We understand that nobody knows their business better than they do, so a collaborative approach is powerful. Going beyond checking off a list of marketing tactics, it’s crucial to lead with strategy and have a deep understanding of business goals.”

What is the plan for the next 5 years? What do you want to achieve?

I’d love to expand and bring on more talent so that we can support our clients even better. Overall, we want to continue growing and working with new companies, exploring new industries and improving our services.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced so far?

I think we tend to have this “idea” of what a successful business should look like or what course it should follow. There have been times where I was led by this idea rather than what works best for our business. Ironically, as an agency that helps companies define themselves, we struggled with figuring out who we are as a company in the beginning. Our team has worked hard on figuring this out together, and we have a clear vision now that works for Nioma, and is based on our own growth trajectory and not what things “should” be.

How do people get involved/buy into your vision?

If you’re a business owner wanting to supercharge your marketing, we’d love to be your partner in growth. Contact us at niomastudio.com to learn more about our services.
