by

Provide data analytics and strategy consulting services to improve healthcare and insurance organizations.

Focused on services that impact business development and improve growth prospects. A significant amount of learning and development is happening everyday. Humbly understanding that insight is achieved through perseverance and determination.

Tell us about yourself?

Near the beginning of the pandemic in 2020, I started Capture Insight Ltd. with an intention to provide data analytics and strategy services.

I was looking to expand my horizons and help other small businesses navigate the difficulties they were facing as people shifted from working in-office environments to remote work environments.

I hold a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Toronto, I have a background in corporate accounting as a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) in Canada and completed a Master Digital Transformation (MDT) on LinkedIn Learning as a member of CPA Ontario. Recently, I was called on to act as an Esquire given my professional background.

If you could go back in time a year or two, what piece of advice would you give yourself?

Think boldly. Listen. Appreciate. Have faith in the process and know there are others that care deeply about you. There is much to learn. Enjoy each challenge and use them as a way to stay motivated. Overcoming obstacles is an ongoing process.

Be creative when solving them, using events and conferences to your advantage can help solve many of them in record time.

What problem does your business solve?

We make strategy and data analytics consulting approachable. Help you better understand your key operating numbers and navigate the challenges of uncertainty.

Reduce operational pressures on chosen departments by helping outsource some of their challenges to an independent and understanding owner-managed firm thereby overcoming internal constraints.

What is the inspiration behind your business?

I was part of an incredible group at WeCloudData and we saw, what we would later understand to be, early warnings signs of a pandemic in government database information.

One of the most meaningful sources of inspiration was how everyone came together near the start of the pandemic to solve the incredible challenges that emerged out of seemingly nowhere.

I was hoping to use the insights developed through my learning and development efforts to help predict and mitigate the risk of future disasters. Overall, trying to solve difficult problems within Insurance and Health IT for Small to Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs).

What is your magic sauce?

Capture Insight Ltd. is a niche provider of solutions. I mainly work from home in Toronto, Canada. I am open-minded when collaborating with other organizations. I try to listen more than I speak. I take incredibly detailed notes when attending events online and follow-up often.

I believe continuous learning is a critical part of the organizational culture, which has led to many incredible outcomes.

Given the small size of the company, it is incredibly nimble and able to pivot much more effectively than many competitors.

What is the plan for the next 5 years? What do you want to achieve?

Keep people thinking. Keep an open mind. Write a book. Build on existing relationships and maintain a culture of continuous learning.

Improve, develop, and look to expert sources through effective research. Throughout the ongoing initiatives at Capture Insight Ltd. ensure that partners and other key relationships are involved and channels of communication are monitored effectively.

I hope to complete a major project from start to finish within the Insurance and Health IT sectors. I would like to further the digital transformation landscape in a meaningful way. Ultimately, leaving the world in a better place by caring deeply about ESG initiatives.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced so far?

Developing a sound organization structure. Knowing how to position the brand when attending incredible world class events. Learning from interactions with multiple stakeholders such as governments and businesses.

Developing an appropriate overall marketing and networking strategy. Keeping it all in-check through professional accounting and regulatory challenges.

There have been a few times where changing course was necessary. Around December 2021, the war in Ukraine was a major turning point for many. It had a dramatic effect on markets around the world.

As a small business owner, I found it helpful to focus on learning and development activities to help mitigate some of the risks. One of the most important ways of navigating uncertainty is to learn from experts.

I found learning platforms Coursera, MasterClass, LinkedIn Learning particularly helpful to navigate the uncertainty. Dr. Rita Kukafka from Columbia University in the City of New York – Mailman School of Public Health was incredibly astute throughout the course HI-FIVE: Health Informatics For Innovation, Value & Enrichment (Clinical Perspective).

As well, the Faculty at Lund University Faculty of Law were engaging and necessary to help navigate some of the complexities of AI & Law, where I wrote about the Significance of AI and Professional Services. One of the most challenging aspects of running a consulting firm are the persistent biases.

I have found reading to be the best way to reduce the impact of many of these risks. Looking to sources of authority to gain a multitude of perspectives opens your mind and provides alternative perspectives. Furthermore, attending events, conferences and summits have left me with few dull moments.

How do people get involved/buy into your vision?

Understanding and appreciating the digital revolution. Just because it is beautiful doesn’t mean it is comfortable. Professionals are the target market that would be interested in working with Capture Insight Ltd.

As Tsedal Neeley puts it: “Leaders need to understand what digital is.”* I found LinkedIn to be an incredible partner, in an ecosystem filled with Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Amazon, Salesforce, Microsoft, Apple, Oracle, SAP and Alphabet. Understanding which companies to work with is a major hurdle to overcome. Please feel free to contact me directly at captureinsightltd@gmail.com.
